Personal Pan Pizza in the Air Fryer (No Proofing Needed)

There’s a time and place for slow dough, stretchy gluten windows, and the perfect rise. But this? This is for the timss when all you want is something warm, nostalgic, and comforting — without giving your free time and elbow grease to it.

This air fryer personal pan pizza is inspired by the same ones I used to enjoy as a kid — but with a lazy-girl spin that actually works. Lowkey can’t believe my idea worked, but here’s your no proofing, no oven, and just three ingredients for the dough base personal pan pizza recipe! This is super fun and will definitely be a hit in your home:)

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Crispy crust + fluffy middle using only your air fryer

  • Only 3 ingredients for the base

  • No dough drama — no yeast, no proofing, just mix and go

  • Beginner-friendly! (even kids-friendly)

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Serves: ~2 - 3 personal pizzas

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup self-raising flour

  • 1 cup greek yogurt (NOT greek-style yogurt!) - I like this

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • Optional: I used roast potato seasoning from M&S at the base after forming the dough because it has semolina in it (Domino’s has this). You can also just use semolina flour.

Toppings:

  • Pasta/pizza sauce - we share our recipe here, or you can use store-bought

  • Shredded cheese (mozzarella or perfect bake types work)

  • Any ingredient of your choice - ham, pineapples, sausage, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, etc

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all dough ingredients. Form into a ball — knead just enough to get a proper dough ball.

  2. Flour a clean surface and pour the dough ball onto the surface. Knead until the dough is smoother and softer. Then cut into 2 to 3 smaller dough balls - this really depends on the size and/or shape of your air fryer + personal preference on how thick you like your pizzas to be. (Note: These fluff up a tiny bit so shape it slightly thinner than you expect)

  3. Lightly grease a pizza mould or make shift “personal pan” with holes. Watch how I did mine below. Your pizza base is going to require some airflow, so if you have a standard air fryer and don’t mind placing your pizza directly into it, you can do so. But because I have a glass air fryer, I need to create air circulation to the base. (Note: If you are placing directly into your air fryer, you need to be sure that it is nonstick or else it will be a nightmare to pick up the baked pizza after)

  4. Spread your sauce, cheese, and toppings of choice.

  5. Air fry at 175-180ºC for about 12-14 minutes. Do check at around the 9-10 minute mark, if the crust is already properly golden, either lower the temperature or use aluminium foil to cover the top to properly cook the pizza for another few minutes. (This is to ensure the entire base is well cooked)

  6. Let it rest for 1–2 minutes before slicing (if you can wait🤭).

Storage & FAQ

Can I prep the dough in advance?
You can! I usually refrigerate it for a few hours to a couple of days. Before shaping and baking it in the air fryer, I leave it out at room temperature for about 15 - 20 minutes so it softens a bit. Remember to flour the surface before shaping always!

Can I use a different flour?
I only tested this recipe with self-raising flour and Greek yogurt. I can’t recommend substitutes because I haven’t tried them.

What toppings work best?
Anything you’d throw on a classic pizza — think mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers. Keep it light and mostly dry type of ingredients for best air fryer results.

Personal Pan Pizza at Home

Sometimes, it’s not about the perfect dough or achieving the most authentic taste. It’s about comfort, nostalgia, and the satisfaction of pulling something together that feels like a win without draining your energy. I look for this a lot, especially as someone who believes in home cooking even on weekday nights.

This personal pan pizza gave me all of that. It’s a success as long as the family enjoys it!
